April was Rhyming Picture Book Month and I participated in the first RhyPiBoMo event given by Angie Karcher. Angie is dedicated to enriching the lives of children through rhyme. Rhyme helps the child to develop a sense of pattern and rhythm to develop their language skills.
Through Angie's delicious presentation of meter, rhyme, scansion, assonance, consonance, alliteration, lusious language and many other poetic mechanics, I have walked away with a plethora of knowledge. She presented 35 lessons filled with her heart and determination to get rhyme into our picture books. If you are a rhymer or would like to test the waters of rhyme, I highly recommend you join next year's RhyPiBoMo. Angie will lead you down the road on how to write brilliant rhyme and singing poetry. I have lightly touched on this amazing event, but if I have struck a chord in you about rhyme, please visit this beautiful lady by clicking the link button on the right hand side of this blog page.
